Welcome to Didsbury Open Gardens

The next Didsbury Open Gardens will take place on Sunday, June 17, 2018.  After a year off in 2017, many of the gardeners are already thinking of ideas for new plants and designs for the coming year, and are excited at the thought of taking part in another successful charity event for St Ann’s Hospice, and other charities. We expect to have most gardens from previous years taking part, as well as a number of new gardens opening their gates to the public. Expect some art and entertainment too!

The event has become a mainstay in the Didsbury and South Manchester Calendar and has been going since 2008, with over 1,000 visitors each year, it has raised more than £50,000 so far for the Hospice and other local charities.  This is always a lovely community event in the Didsbury Calendar.  We hope the 2018 event will be just as popular and that everyone will come along to enjoy the gardens, the music and art, and of course the tea and cakes.

The organizers are keen to encourage new gardens to take part and to welcome even more visitors this year. “We try to include a real variety of gardens in the programme – everything from formal courtyard to Japanese, with several gardens also offering refreshments and plant sales as well as entertainment. Gardens with something a bit different, whether it’s the design or the plants, and whether small or large, are welcome. The range of styles, the novel designs and ideas and most of all the welcome from the garden hosts, together make the event such a success.  A number of  the gardens also open for the National Gardens Scheme (NGS).”

If you would like to open your garden, please contact info@didsburyopengardens.org and we will get back to you straight away.

Look out for programmes on sale from early May 2018, in local shops.   More details will be available nearer the time on this web site’s ‘News’ page.

We very much look forward to seeing you there!
